The purpose of the Aquifer and Stream Restoration Trust is to restore natural water flow to key springs, streams, and rivers and recharge deep aquifers through the strategic installation of thousands of simple, inexpensive, and easy to install, loose rock structures (LRS) aka trincheras, and wire rock baskets aka gabions. Such structures have been proven to delay the flow of surface water runoff, thereby increasing the duration of streamflow and deep groundwater recharge.
